The incident centred around an unconfirmed report of an active shooter at the Harris Teeter Grocery store situated at 1930 W. Palmetto St. in Florence. As of now, no arrests have been made, and there is no public information regarding the identity or description of the alleged shooter.

The School Incident:

Meanwhile, Principal Carrie Ann Brigman addressed an incident involving a student suspected of carrying a pistol to class at Williams Middle School. When another youngster informed a staff member about the availability of a handgun, suspicions were raised. The school proceeded quickly, taking the unloaded weapon without any problems. The student was identified and then removed from the classroom.

Despite the metal detector being activated during the student’s entry, a second search of the backpack failed to uncover the weapon. Brigman told the public that the gun was unloaded.
