At around 12:30 p.m., the McLean County Sheriff’s Office received a distressing call about an unresponsive male found in a ditch near Route 136 and 1025 East Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Subsequently, McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder confirmed the man’s identity as Jamere D. Bew, 31 years old, from Bloomington, Illinois. The preliminary autopsy revealed that Jamere succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, with toxicology testing still pending. The investigation involves multiple agencies, including the McLean County Coroner’s Office, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, the Bloomington Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.

Who was Jamere Bew?

Jamere Bew was well-known for his friendly and engaging personality. After finishing high school at William B. Travis High School, he started working at Pepsi in Houston, Texas, as an account merchandiser, where he demonstrated his skills. Later, he became a team leader at Urban Outfitters and then an assistant manager at BoxLunch. Jamere joined Spire Houston in September 2018, contributing to the team’s success.

Afterward, he worked as a forklift operator at Kuehne + Nagel in Aurora, Illinois, from October 2018 to May 2019. Jamere’s journey continued as he took on the role of an assistant manager at Zumiez in Sugar Land, Texas. Currently, since May 2023, he has been making a significant impact as a Production Control Team Leader at Rivian. His career path reflects his dedication and ability to succeed in different roles.
