Ohio officials announced that a student-athlete at the University of Cincinnati has died after an apparent drowning at East Fork State Park. Women’s soccer player Ally Sidloski’s obituary was revealed.
According to the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Athletics, Ally Sidloski, 21, of Strongsville, Ohio, on Saturday, May 22. It is reported that Ally Sidloski died after a boating accident.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ spokesperson confirmed that her body was recovered Sunday morning, May 23, at William H. Harsha Lake in Clermont County at about 1 a.m.
The ODNR said Ally Sidloski was hanging off a swim platform attached to a boat when she fell into the lake.
Officials reported that she was not wearing a life jacket. University officials said Ally recently completed her sophomore soccer season, but she was unable to play during the 2020 season, which took place in the spring of 2021, because of an injury.
Neil Stafford, the soccer head coach, said in a statement: “I am absolutely crushed for the Sidloski family, our soccer team and the University. There’s no words for dealing with a tragedy on this scale. Ally was such a pillar of everything that’s right about our program.”
Ally Sidloski was also a high-performing student in the class, earning recognition for achieving a 4.0 GPA in multiple semesters.
In 2019, Sidloski’s collegiate debut was against East Carolina University, and she played in the university’s American Athletic Conference Tournament opener against Southern Methodist University. She was the third member of her family who plays collegiate-level soccer.

It is reported that Ally Sidloski died after a boating accident. She is survived by her father, David and mother Tracie, and her two sisters, Katie and Nicole.
“Our Bearcats family has suffered an extreme loss,” Director of Athletics John Cunningham said in a statement. “We send all our prayers, love and support to the Sidloski family and will do everything we can to support them and our student-athletes as we all process and work through this tragedy.”
