Biography & Net Worth: “Come From Away” Comes Southwest Florida On First National Tour

Lee County

“Come From Away” will take place this week at the Barbara Bee Man Performing Arts Center in Lee County.

It is the story of pilots who celebrate human patience, compassion and courage in dire situations.

On stage around the world, actors and actresses sang songs emphasizing the girl’s story and her flying dreams. Beverly is from just southwest Florida and received her first flight training at Pagefield at the age of 19.

“I said, ‘I’ll be flying for the rest of my life.’ And it turned out to be true. I’m going to be 70 in March, but still a jet. “I’m leaving,” Bass said.

She became the first female captain of American Airlines. The bus was in the air on 9/11 during a flight from Paris to Dallas, Texas.

“We didn’t know who the airline was… and terrorism… what did that mean?” Bass said.

This meant that the bus had to get down at his place immediately. She was ordered to land in Gander, a small town in Newfoundland, Canada. The bus said that the neighbor there welcomed him and the passengers with an open heart.

“They not only opened homes, schools and churches, but they also opened their hearts,” Bass said.

Now, the story of his landing and bus journey is at the center of “Come From Away.” Bass says the story is about a terrifying but painfully born beauty of a historical day.

“‘Come From Away’ certainly focuses on the hopes and signs of mankind. We often call it the story of 9/12,” Bass said. “It’s about everything that happened in a positive and good way after the horrific tragedy of 9/11.”

This play is not only entertaining but also inspiring. And at the heart of that inspiration is a story that unravels a young girl and her flying dreams.

Bass told Wink News that he had seen “Come From Away” 164 times around the world. But he’s excited to see his 165th scene in Barbara B. Mann on Tuesday.
