“With everlasting love, we announce that Michael Nesmith died peacefully and of natural causes, in the morning, in front of his family at his home,” his family said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

Nesmith’s final performance was less than a month ago, when he and Mickey Dolenz, the only surviving member of the Monkees, ended their farewell tour at the Greek Theater in LA on November 14.

The couple was scheduled to embark on a cruise in early 2022, believed to be their last appearance together.
