Body Found In Search For Missing LSU Student Kori Gauthier

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — A body was located Tuesday in the Mississippi River amid the search for missing LSU student, Kori Gauthier.

The Advocate reports, a boater found the body at around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to Sheriff Mike Tregre, the body was found close to Milepost 137, in St. John the Baptist Parish.

LSU officials are scheduled to meet with St. John the Baptist Parish authorities. LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard III reportedly said that an update will be provided at some point today.

Spencer Gauthier, the uncle of Kori, made a desperate plea in hopes to locate the young woman.

Kori Gauthier’s vehicle was found crashed on the Mississippi River bridge early Thursday morning with her cell phone and purse inside.

Spencer Gauthier posted on his Facebook page about his missing niece:

“Everyone I need your help! Please share this picture of my niece Kori Gauthier. She has not been seen since April 6th. She is a Freshman at LSU. Her vehicle was involved in an accident (currently in a junkyard) on the Mississippi River bridge at or around 1am on April 7th. I’ve checked every hospital, jail, coroners office you name it. No sign of her. I’ll personally pay $10K to anyone that leads her home. I need my niece!!!!

Spencer Gauthier says Kori’s been missing since April 7 and that he’s checked every hospital, jail, and coroners office and no sign of the young woman.

Students at LSU are helping the search for Gauthier by putting up flyers around campus in hopes of her return, reports brproud.

Anyone with possible information on the missing student should contact police immediately at 911.
