TAMPA BAY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Tampa Bay Rays have introduced the passing of bullpen catcher Jean Ramirez, who died unexpectedly this week. He was 28.
No additional particulars surrounding Ramirez’s passing had been supplied.
“He introduced a lot ardour and vitality every day to our clubhouse and bullpen, and his love for the Rays and baseball was evident to all who interacted with him,” Rays supervisor Kevin Money stated.
“Jean will likely be deeply missed.”
Added former Rays celebrity pitcher Blake Snell, who gained a Cy Younger in Tampa, “Man this one hurts.”
Ramirez was picked by the Rays out of Illinois State Univ. within the twenty eighth spherical of the 2016 MLB draft … and he went on to play catcher within the workforce’s minor league system for 3 seasons, stories TMZ.
Ramirez then joined the massive league membership as its bullpen catcher in 2019 — and had stated his final objective was to maneuver up within the ranks and in the future handle a roster in The Present.
