Chan Zwanzig Cause of Death | Chan Zwanzig Passed Away | Chan Zwanzig Obituary | Died | Funeral Plans – The family of Chan Zwanzig has announced the passing away of their beloved one. He died on July 24, 2020.

We lost a pioneer for the whitewater kayak world and a personal supporter. Chan Zwanzig founded and grew Wavesport Kayaks in Oak Creek, Colorado.

When I became a world champion and wanted to grow my personal brand Chan and I became partners in crime. I became an athlete and sales rep and helped him recruit and train the best team the world had ever seen at that time.

Chan believed in making the best product, having the best team and using the team to sell boats. He wanted to do things his way, or no way. I was very lucky to have part of his team.

He gave me a chance to start designing boats in 1996 when I designed the X with David Knight and it started the EJ/Knight plastic boat design team that lasted until 2019 making more boats than any other design team in kayak history.

Chan passed away after illness got the best of him. The world is missing a pioneer and free thinker. I am missing somebody who had a profound impact on my life.
RIP Chan.
