David Gale passed away today, Friday, October 09, 2020.
David is an excellent writer and manager, with many years of experience as a journalist, editor and leader within the publishing industry; coordinating teams, overseeing design, content and commercial activity, and acting as an ambassador.
As Publisher, David is responsible for representing Headlines as an informed ambassador and commentator. He’s also not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get involved directly through writing, managing our relationships, and overseeing content and project management.
Out of the office, David enjoys spending time with his two kids, playing and watching sport, cooking and planning his next holiday!
He is survived by his wife and his two kids.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of David Gale. David was the editor of 41 of my books–all my books with S&S–and he made each one of them immeasurably better. I cannot say enough about the influence he had, not just on my work, but on that of many, many others.

Just so heartbroken to hear about the passing of David Gale. He was kind to me when I was new and unsure of myself, and a true champion. He will be missed.

Oh no, David Gale.
Every book conference, I would loiter around the S&S booth to get my ten minutes with him. He was always kind enough to talk to me. Always kind enough to welcome a nobody.
Rest easy, David. I’ll miss our talks.
