South African veteran actress, Elize Cawood has died after a battle with lung cancer. She fought it since last year September. Cawood died on Saturday morning around 09:19, her daughter Jenna Dunster posted on Facebook. “She was diagnosed with lung cancer in September and fought gracefully until the end,” Dunster said.
Elize Cawood is a South African actress. Her most famous TV role is probably that of Pop in Verspeelde lente (1984) and on the silver screen opposite Marius Weyers and Peter Sepuma as the rich Afrikaans woman in Taxi to Soweto . She has also been seen in movies such as The Miracle Worker (2012) and Lien’s Long-Standing Shoes (2012).
Cawood numerous prizes won for her roles, including Best Actress in a drama series in 1984 and 1985 Best Supporting Actress in the Vita, Dalro – Scenaria- and Arts Awards and Best Actress in the soap Villa Rosa in 2007 .
