Ennio Morricone was born on November 10, 1928, he was an Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and former trumpet player, writing in a wide range of musical styles. Morricone composed over 400 scores for cinema and television, as well as over 100 classical works. 

Morricone lived in Italy his entire life and never desired to live in Hollywood. The New York Times Magazine listed Ennio Morricone among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire.

On 6 July 2020, Ennio Morricone died at the Università Campus Bio-Medico in Rome as a result of injuries sustained during a fall.
