Gerald Treece Death – Dead: Gerald Treece Cause of Death, Obituary

Horace Clarke Death

Professor Gerald Treece Cause of Death | KHOU’s legal analyst, Gerald Treece, has passed away. He died on July 13, 2020.

Treece provided legal analysis for KHOU 11 for more than three decades. He was a regular on our broadcasts, answering questions from many of you, our viewers. And he helped us explain complex legal issues for our stories.

He was an expert on issues of civil rights, Constitutional law, torts and trial and appellate advocacy.

Treece served as South Texas College of Law vice president, associate dean and professor. He launched the school’s ‘Best in the Nation’ Advocacy program in 1978, according to the school. And through his program and teachings, South Texas College of Law trained some of the best litigators and legal minds in the country.

His favorite quote was, ‘I love the law,’ but we also know how much he loved his wife, Sue. They had recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Heartbroken to hear Professor #GeraldTreece has passed away. Loved when stories I worked on led to interviews w/ him at @STCL_Houston . The legal analysis was always spot on, but even better were the jokes & conversations when camera wasn’t rolling. RIP Prof. Treece. #khou11

  4. I moved out from Houston to a rural area to care for my aging mom. Our Saturday ritual was to drink our coffee & watch Professor Treece. I am absolutely sure that my very social & civic-minded mother skipped out to the perimeter of heaven to welcome Gerald Treece! We thought the world of him – even just through the medium of tv. What a class act!

  5. Bless Gerald ‘s sweet heart & loving Christian approaches. My Family & I wish him Rest In Peace dear brother. Thoughts & prayers go out to Sue & family.
