Jason Judd has been identified as the victim in the single-vehicle crash that happened in the morning outside Liberty High School near 97th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.
According to Brandon Sheffert, Peoria Police Department spokesperson, Judd was on duty at Liberty High School for a motorcycle demonstration at a youth camp called Youth Citizen Police Academy. The students went back inside, and he was leaving the event when the crash occurred.
“At some point the motorcycle came out from under him and he crashed and at that point he was injured,” Sheffert said. Other officers already on scene called for help.
It’s unclear what exactly happened, but Sheffert noted no students were present when the crash occurred.
