John Anthony Doc Martin Death Dead – John Coleman Doc Martin Obituary
Doc Martin is a British television medical comedy drama series starring Martin Clunes in the title role. It was created by Dominic Minghella after the character of Dr Martin Bamford in the 2000 comedy film Saving Grace.
The programme is set in the fictional seaside village of Portwenn and filmed on location in the village of Port Isaac, Cornwall, United Kingdom, with most interior scenes shot in a converted local barn.
Circumstances surrounding his death is yet to be revealed. We will update you as soon as we have more information about his death.
Doc Martin is a favourite in many households across the UK and even in America and other parts of the world.
Filmed in the West Country, many tourists flock to our neck of the woods to visit filming locations and just generally enjoying listening to our West Country accents.
Its star, Martin Clunes, is also a lover of the region and hosts the annual Buckham Fair, with dog and pony shows set in stunning countryside.
But how much do you know about the much-loved ITV show?
The Doc Martin character we all know and love is based on the Doctor Martin Bamford character from 2000 film, Saving Grace.
Martin Clunes played this role, which also spanned across two further films, called Doc Martin (2001) and Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie (2003).
His production company had signed a six-film contract but, when that fell through, Martin Clunes instead took the concept to ITV.
They changed the Doctor’s backstory, name and personality to create the story we see on our screens today.
Members of the Clunes family have been a part of the show.
Martin Clunes’ wife, Philippa Braithwaite, is one of the producers on the show and even daughter, Emily Clunes, has done some acting.
You can spot her in episode eight of series four.
She is one of the dancing school children who asks her teacher: “Are you okay Miss?”
In real life, Martin Clunes absolutely adores dogs.
But in the show, you will often see Doc Martin chasing and yelling at a stray dog, something Clunes says he always feels guilty about.
In series four, characters in the show mention that the stray dog that hangs around the surgery has somehow died between series.
It is not revealed how the dog has died, but it is insinuated that Doctor Ellingham murdered the dog!
In real-life, that dog had passed away.
