Kevin Redd started working at the HalfSmoke restaurant near Howard University as a dishwasher four years ago, his wife said.
Last week, Kevin Redd, 32, was the manager who locked up the store and took a bus to the Minnesota Avenue Metro Station and set off on foot for home.
He never made it. Police say he was found shot to death in an alley blocks from his home and it has left his family devastated.
Kevin Redd of Northeast Washington, died at a hospital shortly after the shooting, which police said occurred about 1:50 a.m. in the 4700 block of Jay Street NE.
Kevin Redd was gunned down in N E last week and investigators & Kevin’s family don’t know why. The father of three and one on the way left his job at the Hot Smoke restaurant in NW late last Wednesday and was found shot to death not far from his home.
