Kevin Tanner Death Dead – Nordonia High School Maths Teacher Obituary: Cause of Death

Horace Clarke Death

Dear Nordonia High School Staff, Students, and Community,
It is with great sadness and deepest respect that we share the sudden passing of one of Nordonia’s best – Mr. Kevin Tanner, beloved math teacher, trusted colleague, and valued friend passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020.
Throughout his career with the Nordonia Hills City School District, Mr. Tanner taught high school math before serving as Nordonia High School Associate Principal and Lee Eaton Associate Principal. Realizing his true passion was working directly with students, he decided to go back into the classroom in 2016. His door was always open to any student (not just his own) and any colleague. He was honored many times as a Superintendent Award Winner, but also connected equally as well with students who struggled. Calm, reassuring, and easy to talk to, Mr. Tanner was a revered presence in our building and will be deeply missed.
The loss of Mr. Tanner will have a significant impact on our entire school community. Our crisis team has been mobilized to respond to this tragic event. We expect a variety of reactions to this loss from our students, parents, and members of our staff. Some of these reactions may be mild, and others may be more intense.
Nordonia Hills City Schools has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. We have counselors available for any student who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss, today and tomorrow, July 6 and 7 from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm.
