Man facing charge of voyeurism following incident reported in public St. Augustine bathroom – What We Know!

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – An act of voyeurism was reported inside a girls’s public rest room, and St. Augustine police say the suspect was caught within the act.

In accordance with the St. Augustine Police Division, the incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. within the coronary heart of a closely foot-trafficked vacationer space of St. Augustine.

In accordance with police, a person had snuck into the toilet and stayed hidden inside a stall that was labeled “out of order.” Whereas hidden, police stated, the person caught a mirror underneath the stall and started spying on a lady within the subsequent stall.

Police stated the girl appeared down and seen the mirror and that she smacked it out of the person’s hand earlier than operating out of the toilet to alert her boyfriend. Investigators stated the boyfriend held the person down till police arrived.

Police recognized the suspect as Christopher Hampton, 26. He’s dealing with a cost of voyeurism.

The girl and her boyfriend instructed News4JAX they have been each vacationers.

“I’m very shocked this occurred in broad daylight and really involved about it now,” stated Bonnie Moreton, a vacationer who was visiting from Canada.

Ochkai stated the girl who reported the incident was doing the precise factor.
