May Day: Osun workers impoverished, bastardised, traumatised – PDP

PDP loyalists plan massive defections in Taraba

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has promised workers that when given the mandate by the electorates, it will ensure a conducive atmosphere.

This promise was contained in a press release signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Areola Jacob Ayodeji on the occasion of the 2021 Workers Day celebration and made available to DAILY POST in Osogbo.

The party, which commended the steadfastness, zeal and relentless service of the Nigerian workers towards the stability and development of Osun State and Nigeria, described the workers in the State as the true essence of a genuine nation building and development.

It noted that despite the provocative challenges of obnoxious policies by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), it was a common knowledge that Osun workers have been impoverished, bastardised, traumatised and pauperised.

While saluting the courage and resilience of workers in Osun, the PDP acknowledged the patriotism they have demonstrated towards the resolve to have a better state.

“We salute the courage and resilience of the Osun Workers as they fatefully march on inspite of the adverse effects of misrule, incompetency, and cluelessness of this present government in our state as a result of pillage of our commonwealth and resources expended on frivolous and white utopian projects, all to insult our sense of judgement.

“These aptly led to large scale underdevelopment and a humongous debt profile.

“While we don’t intend to trade blame, we are, however, disturbed that your entitlements are unnecessarily denied.

“The attendant pains and grief are condemnable in its entirety and this we strongly detest and abhor.

“The patriotism you continue to demonstrate is the tonic needed to strengthen our resolve to push hard for a better Osun State where workers’ earnings are protected and their future guaranteed.”
