Cape Coral Fire Department wrote on Facebook “It is with great regret and sadness that the Cape Coral Fire Department announces the passing of Lieutenant Michelle Clore (retired). A Marine Corps veteran, Lt. Clore was hired by the CCFD in 1993 as the Department’s second female firefighter and became the Department’s first female officer when she promoted to lieutenant. She retired in 2018 and this weekend passed away from an aggressive form of cancer. Under the Florida Firefighter Cancer Presumption law, her death is presumed work related. Lt. Clore’s passing is deeply felt by her husband and daughter, her family, her foster children whom she passionately cared for, her friends, and her fellow Brothers and Sisters at the CCFD.”
