HIP HOP ARTISTE NAIRA MARLEY WAS BARRED FROM PERFORMING AT A SHOW INSIDE THE CAMPUS OF UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS(UNILAG), AKOKA.
Nigerian hip hop artiste, Naira Marley who had been in the EFCC custody for weeks was later released on trial and he’s to appear in court occasionally for his trial.
Naira Marley’s was release has been a little dispute amongst Nigerians. We didn’t get clarity of why he was arrested and how he was granted bail of some ransom of money.
Naira Marley also have released the official video of his song titled “Soapy” which he recorded tagging the EFCC cell and Kirikiri prison. The video tell so much about his time in the cell.
Meanwhile, the administration of UNILAG have taken to their own law not to allow Naira Marley perform or attend any show hosted in the school campus.
According to findings by Sahara Reporters, the decision to stop Naira Marley from performing is as a result of his poor public perception and negative influence he is parting in the community with his style of music.
Naira marley ongoing court case over cyber fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is also one of the reason he has been restricted of his right to perform in the school or attend any show/events hosted by the school or taking place in the school campus.
Regardless, The event organised by mobile phone manufacturer, Infinix, is currently taking place at the Sports Centre of the institution. And according to the news, Naira Marley is the only artiste who has not been granted permission to perform in the school campus.
