The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone XI, Osogbo, comprising Osun and Oyo States, Olasupo Babatunde Ajani has expressed the willingness of the Nigeria Police to support and partner with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) where needed.
He made this known on Thursday when the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke and his team paid a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo.
AIG Ajani said the Police and NYSC are subsidiaries of the federal government hence the need for partnership and consistent support for each other to ensure maximum productivity.
He assured the NYSC of additional security support even as it prepares to commence its orientation exercise in the coming days.
Ajani charged the team to admonish corps members during the orientation exercise on the need to live right, keep right friends for accountability and avoid late nights for the safety of their lives and properties.
The police boss urged corps members in the state to be wary of strangers, hitching rides by the roadside and blindly trusting people as the present time is very precarious and requires caution.
Earlier, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke while welcoming the new AIG to the state, sought more support from the Zone in enhancing the security of the Corps members.
He expressed a desire to continue to enjoy the synergy that has existed between the Zone and the NYSC scheme in the state.
“The security of the lives and properties of our corps members is paramount to us as they are the leaders of tomorrow,” he concluded.
