Seven Indian sailors had been amongst 14 foreigners launched on Sunday from the Houthi-controlled Yemeni capital of Sanaa, Oman’s Overseas Minister Badr Albusaidi stated.

The Indian sailors and no less than seven different folks from totally different nations had been held captive by Yemen’s Houthi rebels after they seized a UAE-flagged service provider vessel over three months again.

“Delighted to verify that Captain Carlos Demata, Mohammed Jashim Khan, Ayenachew Mekonen, Dipash Moota Parambil, Akhil Reghu, Surya Hidayat Pratama, Sreejith Sajeevan, Mohammed Munwar Sameer, Sandeep Singh, Luke Symons and his spouse and youngster, Maung Than, and Veera V S S G Vasamsetti have been launched from custody in Yemen earlier immediately,” he stated in an announcement posted on Twitter.

The Omani overseas minister stated the individuals who had been freed are actually within the care of Oman.

“We’re deeply grateful for the noble and humanitarian efforts made by many events in good religion, not least the Yemeni management in Sanaa, to deliver this to fruition,” he stated.

Oman’s overseas ministry stated all 14 folks had been taken on an Oman Royal Air Pressure aircraft to Muscat.

Responding to Albusaidi’s tweet, Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar thanked him for Oman’s help within the matter.
