Samfilippo was operating a Ford Focus on GA-196 near John Wells Road in Gum Branch, when the vehicle came into contact with a Centurylink branded pickup truck around 9 p.m. Friday.
Samfilippo was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
A passenger in the Ford was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the CenturyLink truck was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
