Former Denver Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas has passed away suddenly on December 9, 2021. According to several sources, Demaryius Thomas’ cause of death was related to an unconfirmed medical condition.
LaTonya Bonseigneur, a cousin who was close to Thomas, revealed Thomas had been “suffering from seizures for over a year.
Though the family isn’t sure when he died, they believe his passing may have been related to a seizure. “We believe he had a seizure when he was showering,” said Bonseigneur.
“He was alone, and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower.”
On Twitter, the Denver Broncos released a statement calling the former star “an incredible player and a special person.”
“We are devastated and completely heartbroken,” the organization wrote.

What’s Demaryius Thomas’ Cause of Death?
His cousin said that Demaryius Thomas’ cause of death was related to seizures.
In June, the Broncos had shared a video of the 33-year-old player announcing his retirement.
“Recently retiring as a Bronco, we were very much looking forward to celebrating Demaryius for years to come as one of the greatest players in franchise history,” the organization said after Thomas’ passing.
He played 10 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Denver Broncos. In 2015, he won a Super Bowl with the Broncos and earned 4 Pro Bowls in a Broncos uniform.
Thomas was driving on February 16, 2019, when he crashed. The former Broncos wide receiver was traveling over 70mph in a 30mph zone with 2 people inside when he lost control and rolled his car.
According to a police statement at the time of the accident, Thomas caused the car to flip over and roll onto a grassy median.
